As part of its commitment to building the industry’s most comprehensive responsible gaming program, FanDuel Group, part of Flutter Entertainment, announced an important partnership with Gamban, a technology company specializing in gaming and betting platform blocking software.
From now on, the group’s responsible gaming program will make Gamban’s software available for free to people who choose to self-exclude themselves from the company’s real money gaming sites or who identify themselves as having a gambling problem.
Under the terms of the agreement and pending regulatory approval in the United States, self-excluded FanDuel players will receive a free subscription from Gamban that blocks access to thousands of gaming sites on up to 15 electronic devices.
FanDuel is investing in awareness initiatives
The partnership comes just after FanDuel became the first operator to formalize a commitment to the American Gaming Association’s “Have a Game Plan” campaign to educate players on how to bet responsibly and within limits.
“Educating customers about the importance of gambling responsibly and within limits is ethically the right thing to do,” said Carolyn Renzin, Director of Compliance at FanDuel.
She added: “We already offer a set of tools to help customers enjoy sports betting responsibly. Making Gamban software available to those customers by signaling that they need help adds another layer of protection to our program and the industry. ”
Jack Symons, founder of Gamban, also said: “This is a great moment for the industry and we have been striving since the launch of Gamban. FanDuel is making a statement of intent and launching a challenge for operators across the industry to offer self-exclusion support to their vulnerable customers. ”
Bookmaker players have a number of tools at their disposal to manage their game, including setting deposit limits, bet limits and time limits. But the ultimate “responsible gambling” tool available to bettors is self-exclusion.
Bettor self-exclusion process
Since bettors self-exclude from one site, they are self-excluded from all branded casino, racing, fantasy and sports betting sites. The company follows a strict exclusion process and employs this policy across all products to protect people who are signaling that they may be in trouble.
Pending regulatory approval, players who self-exclude themselves from the group’s real money gaming sites will now receive a Gamban license to match their self-exclusion.
The service will not block this customer for only each company website, but all real money gambling sites, including legal betting services, online casinos, poker sites, social gaming sites and eSports sites for use on up to 15 devices .
Gamban also has a partnership with the FanDuel Group holding company, Flutter Entertainment, to deploy its software in Europe. The group extended cooperation in North America to include TVG, Betfair, Stardust, FOX Bet, PokerStars and Stars Casino.
In addition, Gamban works with companies such as Lloyds Banking Group and other major players in the UK betting industry, the self-exclusion system GAMSTOP and the leading treatment provider GamCare, giving those who suffer gambling damage access to their software free.
The company also struck a deal with the Norwegian government-owned national game and lottery operator, Norsk Tipping, to provide its software to those who wish to self-exclude themselves.
