Major League Rugby (MLR) entered into a partnership with Genius Sports, focused on streaming and data sharing services, as part of the league’s entry strategy into the sports betting segment.

Major League Rugby (MLR) entered into a partnership with Genius Sports, focused on streaming and data sharing services, as part of the league’s entry strategy into the sports betting segment.

Genius will also gain exclusive rights to capture and manage league data, as well as distribute it to sports betting operators in North America and internationally. Notable partners in the league’s betting industry include William Hill, bet365, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetVictor and Betsson.

“We know that there is an interest in regulated betting in our games and we have to take proactive measures to protect the integrity and transparency of our events,” said MLR representative George Killebrew.

He added: “We have the greatest confidence in the Genius Sports Group to manage our data and deliver it to its sports betting partners, further involving all fans, old and new.”

In addition, the rugby tournament will be protected against any attempt at corruption related to betting and integrity threats through Genius Sports betting monitoring system, in addition to providing a series of rules, regulations and educational workshops.

Genius Sports stands out for its partnerships in the sports scene

MLR joins numerous Genius leagues and sporting events, including the English Football Championship, the German Championship, the Italian Championship, the Australian Basketball League (NBL) and the PGA Tour.
