The bookmaker, Paddy Power has joined a campaign of vital importance to assist in the vaccination process and combat Covid-19 in the United Kingdom.

Thousands are willing to join the 22,000 who have already officially committed to help with vaccination sites across the country.

These volunteers will be an essential part of the Covid-19 vaccination team, ensuring that the centers operate smoothly and safely.

Supporting the campaign launched by The Sun to immunize 15 million people by March, the head of supermarket chain Morrisons – which employs 121,000 people – pledged to volunteer and offered to use his company’s parking lots.

CEO David Potts said: “We support this great initiative from The Sun with all our heart. We continue to make our assets available to the nation and we will help in any way we can. “

Travel giants British Airways and TUI also collaborated, encouraging thousands of employees to cooperate. Hundreds of licensed employees have already volunteered at organizations such as the British Red Cross and Age UK.

Paddy Power’s contribution to the national campaign

In addition, Paddy Power directors offered to use their currently closed bookmakers as temporary vaccination centers.

A company spokesman commented: “The sooner we can be vaccinated, the sooner we can get back to our lives. See the family and then take a break from them to watch football or go to the bar ”.

The representative added: “But seriously, if we can play a minimal role in the country’s recovery, we would be very proud. Therefore, we are offering the use of 345 Paddy Power stores and the support of the team that works on them across the country ”.

The Sun created a national action called ‘Jabs Army’

On New Year’s Day, The Sun launched a major campaign called ‘Jabs Army’ to help the National Health Service (NHS) recruit the volunteers needed for the safe and proper functioning of vaccination centers in the fight against Covid-19 .

Through the NHS Volunteer Response Program, offered by the Royal Voluntary Service, anyone can apply to participate in the campaign to immunize 15 million people by March.

Volunteers only need to commit to two six-hour shifts per month in a vaccination service near their homes and no experience or qualifications are required. Within a week, some 22,000 Britons responded to the call.

The Executive Director of the Royal Voluntary Service, Catherine Johnstone, said: “reaching more than 20,000 registrations in just one week is an absolutely incredible achievement. We are very grateful to Sun readers for joining us in our fight to win Covid-19 and look forward to welcoming new recruits to the teams. “

She concluded, “We still need a lot more people to join us and be part of the team that is making history. Please sign up.”
