As of this Monday, the 21st, Colombia will carry out a campaign in favor of integrity in sporting events. With the title “Yo le Apuesto” (‘I bet with you’ in free translation), several betting companies and iGaming, in partnership with Fecoljuegos, Asojuegos and Coljuegos, will develop awareness strategies for people involved in sports.

According to SBC Notícias, the purpose of this movement is to pass on correct information to all those who have some connection with sports activity, as well as to the public that accesses the betting platforms regulated by national agencies.

In addition, the campaign will consist of sharing communications on social media, in addition to some informational messages about the dangers of manipulation.

Colombian authorities comment on the importance of collective action

Evert Montero Cárdenas, the president of Fecoljuegos, declared: “The gambling industry and, in particular, Internet-operated games are allies of sport. And, as such, we are working in concert with sports institutions in actions that allow training, awareness, information exchange and, in general, strengthening of good practices to guarantee sports integrity ”.

Cárdenas also stated that “we are convinced that only together will we be able to protect Colombia’s diverse sports from any threat. Bookmakers are compromised because they would be the most affected by any unwanted situation. For this reason, we have successfully joined this great public awareness strategy ”.

The president of Asojuegos, Juan Carlos Restrepo, also spoke about the joint articulation of the companies in the sector and the inspection entities of the local games market.

“We seek to make even more visible the commitment we have to sports integrity and to the preservation of an industry that contributes millionaire resources to the health of all Colombians. The way to remember and emphasize our dedication to working for transparency is through this type of campaign ”, concluded Restrepo.
