Betfair is Almost Closing Sponsorship for Series A and B of the Brasileirão

Sports betting company Betfair is in advanced negotiations to close a sponsorship for Series A and B of the Brazilian Championship. The agreement should make it possible for the bookmaker’s brand to be displayed on advertising boards in the games of the two main divisions of national football.

With the inaugural rounds of both divisions scheduled for this weekend, the Betfair brand may appear on the signs around the pitches in these first matches.

Serie B starts this Friday, 7, with two matches: Cuiabá x Brasil de Pelotas and Confiança x Paraná. While the first division of the Brasileirão will start on Saturday, 8, with three games: Fortaleza x Athletico-PR, Coritiba x Internacional and Sport x Ceará.

The first round of Serie A will continue the following day, Sunday, but three duels have been postponed due to the finals of their state championships.

This will not be Betfair’s first sponsorship contract with football competitions. Since the company already displays its brand on advertising boards in the two main soccer tournaments in South America: Copa Sudamericana and Libertadores da América.

According to Conmebol, the trend is that these two championships should be resumed in the coming weeks.
