The World Poker Federation (WPF) announced the appointment of Brazilian Roberto Lifschitz to the position of Marketing Director. With more than 20 years of experience in creating strategies, product management, strengthening brands and leading teams, the executive takes on the role with the aim of consolidating poker as a sport of the mind and expanding its presence in strategic markets.
Roberto Lifschitz’s education and career
Graduated in Business Administration from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, Roberto Lifschitz has accumulated experience in several projects. Among its initiatives is “Minha Vida”, the largest health and well-being portal in Brazil, and “Techfit”, a pioneering platform in diet subscriptions, which has helped millions of people achieve their goals.
Since 2009, he has also been part of Endeavor Brasil as an entrepreneur and, in 2011, PEGN magazine recognized him as Entrepreneur of the Year.
Roberto Lifschitz highlighted his motivation when taking on the new challenge. “Poker has always been a personal passion. In addition to strategy, the game requires logical reasoning, emotional control and discipline, essential life skills.”
“I want to propagate these values and ensure that the sport is understood in its true essence. This is essential to attract new audiences and strengthen the global community”, he continued.
About the World Poker Federation
WPF’s mission is to connect the global poker community, overcome barriers that limit the sport’s growth and reinforce its status as a sport of the mind. Recently, the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) officially recognized poker as part of this category.
The world federation currently brings together more than 50 member countries on five continents, and Igor Trafane, one of the biggest names in world poker, presides over it.
WPF’s focus is on building a global sporting structure for the sport. Efforts are focused on creating standardized regulations, developing career opportunities, protecting players and organizing international competitions.
These measures aim to strengthen the foundation of poker as a major sport and expand its reach on the world stage.
