The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has confirmed the return of its online poker festival with GGPoker. The 2022 WSOP Online will be the third installment in the online tournament series, continuing the 53rd annual WSOP on the Las Vegas Strip, where $347.9 million in prize money was awarded to 197,626 entrants.
The online poker event will feature ‘gold bracelet’ tournaments on both the WSOP and GGPoker sites, with winners securing a spot in the 2023 WSOP Tournament of Champions.
Notable WSOP events running throughout the tournament include ‘No Limit Hold’em Turbo Deepstack’ on September 29th, ‘Lucky 7’s’ on October 2nd and ‘WSOP Online 2022 Championship’ on October 16th.
WSOP SVP Ty Stewart said, “Nobody wanted to see this year’s World Series of Poker come to an end. However, in many ways, the return of the WSOP Online is even more exciting.
“Together with GGPoker, we have a clear vision to make this festival annually the biggest deal in online poker, so the WSOP offers players a top-notch event in both live poker and online poker each year.”
For the third year in a row, GGPoker will host the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, also known as the main event of the WSOP Online. The event offers a guaranteed prize pool of $20 million.
In addition, GGPoker will offer 33 wristband events, with buy-ins ranging from $100 to $10,000. Notable GGPoker events include: $1,111 every 1 ‘For War Relief’ on August 14th, $10 million ‘Million Dollar Mystery Bounty’ on August 22nd and many others.
GGPoker Global Ambassador Daniel Negreanu said: “Online wristbands are just as prestigious as live tournament wristbands. I’m glad we’re creating a new tradition to celebrate online play, and I’m working hard to add my first WSOP wristband Online to my collection”.
