Brazilian SuperPoker group acquired by Playmaker Capital

Playmaker Capital Inc., a digital sports media group, has acquired the national company SuperPoker Group, which has a number of online poker platforms, social media pages and streaming services.

In addition, SuperPoker is the official platform in Portuguese for several major tournaments, such as the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), the European Poker Tour, the Pokerstars Players’ Championship, the World Series of Poker – Circuito Brasil and the Pan-American Poker Tour (PAPT).

According to BolaVip, Playmaker’s subsidiary, Futbol Sites, will head up SuperPoker’s daily operations from now on. SuperPoker records 15 million visits per year and 1.25 million annual users across all properties, making it one of the most famous poker groups on the planet.

“Poker players are sports fans and sports fans are poker players. Playmaker is building an ecosystem of engaged fans and this overlay provides our fans with additional content to enjoy and gives our betting and advertising customers another alternative to reach the audience they want. Brazil is a key market for us and we will continue to focus on it,” said Jordan Gnat, CEO of Playmaker.

Gnat added: “I am also delighted to welcome Igor Trafane, founder and CEO of SuperPoker, to the Playmaker family. Igor’s influential presence in the Latin American market is unparalleled and will be a great complement to our business in the region.”

Founder of SuperPoker, Trafane will collaborate with Futbol Sites

Igor Trafane was the founder of SuperPoker and has numerous assets linked to the game in the country, including the H2 Club, BSOP, PAPT and Flush Tour. Trafane also founded and was the first president of the National Poker Federation of Brazil. Today, he is in charge of the Pan American Poker Confederation, but he will continue to collaborate with Futbol Sites in order to expand his role in the Brazilian scenario.

“I am passionate about poker and I am passionate about football. This association unites these passions. I have known Jordan for many years since his days at the Stars Group and we have great mutual respect and admiration, and this opportunity now allows us to work together again as partners,” said Igor Trafane.

Trafane concluded: “My business group has more than ten companies, from poker tournaments to live poker clubs, poker supplies and more. Our media business needed a strategic relationship for the future. Playmaker is that partner and, in the long term, I will help to develop this business as a shareholder.”
