PokerStars has partnered with Women Who Code (WWCode) to increase female participation in the game. The online poker giant will join WWCode’s community partner program as its first gaming partner and will appear in the organization’s newsletters, social media posts, blog updates and events.

Created to inspire and support women in technology careers, WWCode is an international not-for-profit organization that aims to improve gender equality across multiple industries. In addition, it supports diversity and inclusion programs to foster pathways for female professionals into leadership positions within companies.

“We are proud to officially become Women Who Code’s first gaming partner and recognize the same values and desire to inspire women to excel in their technology careers,” said Rebecca McAdam Willetts, Associate Director of Public Affairs for the Group at PokerStars.

She added: “Together we have a vision of a world where women are proportionately represented as technical leaders, executives, founders, VCs, board members and software engineers.”
