Gaming Innovation Group Inc, known by its acronym GiG, announced a significant transformation by officially changing its name to Gentoo Media Inc. Shareholders ratified the decision at a meeting on September 23.

This name change is a strategic step in the company’s restructuring process, which aims to separate its media and platform divisions. The split is scheduled to take place on September 30th.

Gentoo Media, formerly GiG Media, will maintain its listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange in Norway under the symbol G2MNO and on Nasdaq Stockholm in Sweden under the symbol G2M. This dual listing reinforces the company’s presence in important financial markets, providing greater visibility and access to global investors.

GiG restructuring plan

GiG’s restructuring plan began with a strategic review in February 2023. Since then, the company has followed a strict schedule, culminating in the split announced in early September.

Following the split, the company’s sports betting platform and division will operate as an independent entity called GiG Software PLC. The new company will list on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market, with trading expected to begin on October 1st.

Recently, GiG strengthened its board of directors with the appointment of Andreas Söneby to GiG Platform. Söneby brings extensive experience from the gaming and technology sectors, having held leadership roles at renowned companies such as Unibet, Kindred Group and Kambi.

His expertise will be fundamental in guiding GiG Platform on its new journey as an independent entity. This restructuring represents a new phase for Gentoo Media Inc, signaling a commitment to innovation and sustainable growth.

Thus, the company is well positioned to explore new market opportunities and strengthen its position as a leader in the media and technology industry.
