SOFTSWISS, a global technology specialist with over 15 years of experience providing innovative iGaming solutions, has announced the integration of a horse racing module into its sports betting software. The module will enhance the SOFTSWISS offering, initially available in South Africa.
Horse racing has long been a traditional and significant part of the betting industry, especially in regions with strong links to the UK such as South Africa, Canada, Japan and New Zealand.
According to research, the global horse betting market is expected to reach €82.6 billion by 2032, registering a CAGR of 7.6% from 2023 to 2032.
With its rich history and expected growth, the Horse Racing Module offers operators additional business opportunities. It covers, on average, 320 local races and 2,150 international races from 14 different countries every month.
Turfsport and SOFTSWISS join forces
Originally developed by Turfsport, a prominent South African software provider with 35 years of experience in the iGaming sector acquired by SOFTSWISS, the Horse Racing Module allows players to place fixed odds bets across multiple markets.
Thus, the main features of the Horse Racing module include race cards, silks and various types of bets. The solution is designed with flexibility, offering unique skins and configurations to align with various brand identities.
Alexander Kamenetskyi, Director of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, comments: “The acquisition of a majority stake in a leading South African software provider has enabled us to integrate SOFTSWISS Sportsbook with Turfsport’s Horse Racing Module, expanding our offering.”
“So, the launch of this module in South Africa is in line with our recent expansion in the region, where we have achieved local certifications for our casino and sports betting platform.”
Kamenetskyi adds: “Horse racing remains very popular, particularly in South Africa, but we are confident that this product has strong global potential. Therefore, this integration marks just the first step in the continued development of the horse racing offering at our sportsbook.”
Innovations for the South African betting and lottery market
In early 2024, SOFTSWISS introduced two new products related to South Africa: Lotto Software and Retail Betting Solution.
Lotto software allows operators to offer a wide range of betting options on customizable lottery numbers. This is independent of traditional lottery organizers.
Thus, optimization for desktop and mobile devices guarantees players personalized and quick-pick betting options. The comprehensive Retail Betting Solution supports a wide range of betting activities such as:
- sports betting
- Lotteries
- horse racing
- Casino Games
It allows operators to create offline betting businesses quickly and legally.
