Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged as the new favorite in bookmakers for the presidential race in the United States, demonstrating the strong progress of her campaign.
In the last two weeks, she has managed to significantly reduce Donald Trump‘s lead in the betting markets. This change reflects an important transformation in the perception of bettors.
Kamala Harris changes the course of betting
On cryptocurrency betting platform Polymarket, Harris now has a slight lead over Donald Trump with 49% to 48%. This is being considered a remarkable turnaround in such a short period of time. Because, in just two weeks, Donald Trump had a 64% chance, while Kamala only had a 29% chance.
Furthermore, according to Polymarket, Harris’ chances of being better in the popular vote are 71%. Donald Trump seems to please the richest, with only 27% likely to win the popular vote.
But on the other hand, New Zealand-based PredictIt bookmakers give Harris an even more significant advantage. Harris is currently priced at 57 cents per share, equivalent to a 57% chance, compared to 45 cents per share for Trump.
This advance came after the choice of Minnesota governor, Tim Walz, as Harris’ vice president. This decision appears to have expanded their lead from two to more than ten points.

The Election Betting Odds tracker, which analyzes data from four betting markets, shows that Harris now has a 50.9% chance of winning in November, compared to Trump’s 47.1%. This change is notable, as two weeks ago Trump led by more than 30 points.
The Democratic Party’s recent unity around Harris following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal appears to have further boosted her chances.
