SOFTSWISS, a technology provider of innovative iGaming solutions, is expanding its ongoing charitable campaign to support flood-affected regions in Brazil.

SOFTSWISS carries out long-term project with residents

In May, the company provided emergency aid and launched an information campaign listing charities approved and endorsed by Rubens Barrichello, Non-Executive Director of SOFTSWISS in Latin America. Now, the company is focusing on a long-term project to provide clean water equipment to the region.

Although water levels have declined in the affected region, humanitarian assistance remains critical due to significant challenges in accessing cleaning and hygiene materials and ensuring water quality. Recent WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) assessments reveal poor water quality in many areas.

SOFTSWISS has committed to a long-term project that aims to provide sustained support through the installation of water purification equipment in schools in partnership with PW Tech. Initial efforts focused on two schools:

  • Rui Barbosa Municipal Elementary School, in Nova Santa Rita, 25 km from Porto Alegre
  • Municipal Elementary School Machado de Assis, in Rolante, 135 km from Porto Alegre

The population, including the number of students and employees of these schools, is more than 100 people. Furthermore, around 300 families in the surrounding area will benefit from access to drinking water provided by the schools.

Situated in a rural area, one of the schools was isolated during the floods, leaving it without access to food and water. Thus, this school served as a resource and shelter for 160 families from the surrounding area. Currently, they depend on well water and old iron reservoirs, which are in poor condition and suffer from animal contamination.

Rubens Barrichello joins the campaign

SOFTSWISS and PW Tech, with the support of Rubens Barrichello, have already carried out crucial actions, including:

  • Obtaining local government approval
  • Carrying out water analyzes
  • Preparation for equipment installation
  • Replacing old deteriorated elements in schools

Now, they await the return of classes for the educational part of the project, which will offer master classes on the importance of having clean water and its influence on health for students, teachers and the community.

“When we started this charity project, I was convinced that it shouldn’t just be a one-off financial aid. The immediate crisis passes and first aid is provided, but people are left to deal with all the eco-social consequences.”

“Therefore, I am happy that the company shares my beliefs and is committed to a serious, long-term approach. SOFTSWISS has a long-lasting commercial presence in Brazil, with a dedicated team. We are ready to do everything we can to support local communities and contribute to their development.” – said Rubens Barrichello, Non-Executive Director of SOFTSWISS in Latin America.

SOFTSWISS carries out educational campaigns with residents

Fernando Silva, CEO of PW Tech, shared: “We are excited to implement this project in partnership with SOFTSWISS. The impact of the flood is severe, but it is critical to focus on long-term solutions to provide clean water. This project is also educational. ”

“For this reason, we are training residents on filter maintenance and educating them about the importance of clean water for their health. Unfortunately, health problems due to poor water quality are common in this region, and this situation needs to change.”

SOFTSWISS also initiated an information campaign to engage the iGaming community, resulting in 11 iGaming media outlets displaying over 35 banners asking for help on their platforms. Therefore, the support of media partners has been invaluable in raising awareness within the iGaming community about how they can help.
