IBIA increases its leading global betting integrity network with OlyBet

Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG) sports betting brand OlyBet has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA). OlyBet is the leading online gaming and sports betting brand in the Baltic region and through its continued growth and expansion has become a comprehensive sports, gaming and entertainment platform across Europe.

The operator recently partnered with the DP World Tour and Euroleague Basketball, as well as being the official sports betting partner of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Hockey League (NHL). OlyBet joins nearly 50 companies and over 120 leading sports betting brands in the IBIA, further strengthening the association’s position as the leading integrity monitoring body operated by operators worldwide.

Corey Plummer, President and CEO of Olympic Entertainment Group and OlyBet Group, commented on the move: “Protecting the integrity of sports and defending sports betting against corruption and criminal activity are two sides of the same coin. Along with other responsible and regulated operators and through a trusted and professional body like IBIA, we can take more steps to protect sports and sports betting.”

Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, said: “IBIA is delighted to welcome the OlyBet brand into our membership. The operator brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of the sports betting market, especially in the Baltic region, where it is a leading player. We intend to work closely with OlyBet to leverage this important regional knowledge base to protect our global network from corrupt betting practices linked to match-fixing.”

“OlyBet’s decision to join the IBIA demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the integrity of sport and the operator’s desire to utilize the best integrity protection globally available for its sports betting product,” added Ali.

The International Betting Integrity Association is the leading global voice on integrity for the licensed betting industry. It is run by operators for operators, protecting its members from corruption through class action. Its monitoring and alerting network is a highly effective anti-corruption tool that detects and reports suspicious activity in its members’ betting markets.

The association has long-standing information-sharing partnerships with leading sports and gambling regulators to utilize their data and prosecute corruption cases. It represents the industry in high-level betting integrity policy discussion forums managed by the IOC, United Nations, Council of Europe and European Commission.

IBIA reports and alerts

The IBIA recently announced its Q1 warning numbers, which included 40 incidents of suspicious betting, covering nine sports across 22 countries and five continents identified by the IBIA’s global monitoring network.

This network uses detailed customer account data that is only available to IBIA and its members and covers nearly 50% of all regulated commercial online gambling activity. By leveraging the collective resources of our members, IBIA is able to build a hedge around its trading members, resulting in fewer attempts to corrupt markets compared to non-members.

The association publishes quarterly reports covering health alerts reported through its monitoring and alerting platform.
