Hard Rock Digital (HRD) and Playtech have signed a partnership in North America. Under the deal, HRD will license a range of the company’s technology solutions and betting content. Under long-term commercial agreements, Playtech will provide its goods and services primarily on a revenue sharing basis.

In addition, Playtech also contributed $85 million to a minority stake in HRD. Money earned through the company’s investment will be used to support HRD’s continued international growth.

Sports betting and iGaming in general under the Hard Rock brand is now available in select US states including Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia. More releases are expected in the future. HRD also intends to expand its online sports betting and iGaming operations to some international regions in the coming years.

Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech, said: “The Playtech team is thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with HRD. Hard Rock International has established itself as a preeminent name around the world.”

“HRD will combine the strength of this global brand with a proven management team, some of whom we at Playtech have known for many years and believe are among the strongest in the online gaming industry.”

“For Playtech, this partnership significantly advances our position in the North American market and is very much in line with our B2B strategy,” added Weizer.

Jim Allen, President of Hard Rock International and Chairman of the Board of HRD, said, “This partnership will act as an accelerator for Hard Rock Digital’s planned strategic initiative to expand its online gaming offerings into international markets.”
