The Copa America Feminina started this Friday, 8, in Colombia. Therefore, the Rei do Pitaco announced the creation of a league entirely dedicated to women’s football during the championship that grants places in the 2023 World Cup and the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
“The Rei do Pitaco aims to encourage more and more sport and diversity on and off the pitch. Therefore, monitoring and making available women’s football leagues on our platform is essential to achieve this goal”, explained the company’s communication manager, Leticia Franco.
Players registered on the platform can form their teams with players who are competing in the competition. In total, there will be seven matches included, including the four games of the Brazilian women’s team in the first phase, in addition to the two semifinals and the grand decision.
The Brazilians debuted in the Copa América, beating the Argentines last Saturday, 9th. Brazil’s next game is scheduled for this Tuesday, 12th, against Uruguay, starting at 18:00 (Brasília time).
“Sport is versatile and must be inclusive. Our action seeks to bring users of the application a new vision of women’s football, showing that plurality must be recognized and respected by all”, concluded Leticia.
