Several companies in the gambling industry have teamed up to create a ‘GoFundMe’ campaign with the aim of raising money in light of the current humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
The ‘Gambling Industry for Ukraine’ aims to raise £250,000 (US$333,000) for the campaign promoted by Choose Love’s Ukraine Crisis. This aims to support projects that are providing vital aid to the people most affected by the war in the country.
A gambling industry spokesperson for Ukraine commented: “We chose to support Choose Love after extensive research as they can use the funds raised in the fastest and most efficient way helping those most in need. We ask all companies to join us in this effort.”

Choose Love is raising money for aid and essential services for those fleeing Ukraine. Items of special need include healthcare equipment, food, shelter, clothing, legal support, support for the LGBTQUA+ community, as well as mental health care.
But it’s not just financial support that organizations are looking for. The groups also urged companies to donate leftover or unused goods such as power banks, towels, water bottles and clothing, which will go towards the provision available for refugees who have had to leave their belongings behind.
Based in Ukraine and commenting on the action, Atlas CEO Sergei Efimenko said: “Many of our IT developers have joined in defending our territory and many others are helping to build protections on the streets. Where there were beautiful flowers and sources, we now build anti-tank protection and machine gun emplacements.”
“But at the same time, we as a company have obligations to our partners, so from different places in Ukraine, sometimes even underground – wherever you can access mobile internet or a laptop – people are doing their People are getting used to living with alerts and explosions and spending nights underground.”
