BitMEX becomes AC Milan's first official cryptocurrency partner

AC Milan and BitMEX, one of the world’s leading encryption platforms, have just announced a long-term partnership. From now on, the company’s brand will appear on the shirt sleeve of the Italian football team.

BitMEX will be present in the sleeve of the men’s and women’s uniform in all competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, and in the sleeve of the eSports team, AQM.

The agreement with Milan is the platform’s first in the world of football and eSports. BitMEX is an iconic brand in the cryptocurrency industry and best known for inventing the most traded cryptocurrency derivative product in history, the Perpetual Swap. In addition, the group has ambitious plans to expand its business.

While AC Milan prides itself on being a football club with a strong heritage and the ability to reinterpret itself for a more modern and international audience, BitMEX aims to reshape the digital financial system. Therefore, the two organizations will focus on innovation, progress and inclusion as central pillars in activating this partnership.

Casper Stylsvig, Milan representative, said: “We are delighted to welcome BitMEX to the Rossoneri family as an official partner and our first sponsor of men’s and women’s teams as well as our AQM eSports team.”

Stylsvig added: “Our red and black jersey isn’t just something our players wear on the field; she represents who we are and embodies the passion of over 500 million AC Milan fans around the world. This is truly an exciting partnership and the start of a great journey for both the brands and our fans.”

CEO says club agreement is a milestone for BitMEX

Alexander Höptner, CEO of BitMEX, stated: “Our partnership with AC Milan is the start of an extremely exciting new chapter for BitMEX as we look to increase brand awareness and broaden understanding of cryptography.”

Höptner added: “Milan are one of the most progressive football clubs in the world and, combined with their rich football history, boast an extraordinary reach and involvement with fans around the world. We felt like we were going home when we started talking to the club and we can’t wait to start interacting with the global Rossoneri community.”

This collaboration will give the club’s international fan base access to the increasingly popular world of cryptocurrency, including exclusive offers for registered fans. BitMEX users and business partners will also have access to the iconic AC Milan brand through unique experiences.

The platform brand will make its debut on the club’s shirt on August 23, when AC Milan will face Sampdoria a in the first game of the Italian Championship of the 2021/22 season. The logo will appear for the first time at the San Siro stadium in front of the Rossoneri fans, in the second round against Cagliari.
