The only ‘All Inclusive’ resort in southern Brazil, Costão do Santinho Resorts, today announced the launch of the HubCG. The site will be dedicated to the gamer universe, being an ecosystem that will be located within the resort area.
The space had an investment of R$300 million in the first five years, with the partial opening being in January 2022 and a games arena in March. The full opening of HubCG will be in July 2022.
The project was created and led by the founder of Costão do Santinho, Fernando Marcondes de Mattos, and by professor Carlos Alberto Schneider, responsible for transforming Florianópolis into a technological pole, from the CERTI Foundation.
“The game market is on the rise in Brazil and we believe that this will be the ideal space for all gamers in the country to meet, whether to play, compete or develop games”, says Fernando Marcondes de Matos, creator and investor of the HubCG.
According to the ‘Game Brasil 2021 Survey’, around 72% of Brazilians are used to playing electronic games, which further demonstrates the size of the market to be explored in the country.
HubCG arrives to make a difference in the Games and eSports scene
HubCG was born on the path of innovation in Florianópolis, especially with ecosystem actors such as Sapiens Parque, UFSC, CERTI, ACATE and the CELTA incubator.
The partnership with these actors aims to provide a complete and advanced set of technologies, laboratories, studios and computational tools, operated by renowned professionals, being accessible to companies, institutions and to HubCG’s own teams.
One of HubCG’s main goals is to become a hub for game creation and development, and for that, the space will initially have a ‘Gaming Office’; the location could be an indication of the birth of new games for the eSports scene.
In addition, the site will have an entire infrastructure focused on game development and a specific area for coworking and business acceleration.
