MGA-launches-vaccination-scheme-in-the-games-sector

The launch of the new Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) scheme was made with the help of the Gaming Malta Foundation, which will allow people employed by gaming companies in Malta to be vaccinated.

Maltese companies will use a coordinated vaccine booking schedule, which will be carried out in conjunction with the statewide program.

MGA said that some companies may even benefit from vaccinations on the spot, making the process safer and easier, which could make the industry more profitable for operators and customers.

In a statement, the regulator said: “In line with existing initiatives by local health authorities to achieve people’s immunity as quickly as possible, both entities are currently helping the local gaming industry to vaccinate their respective staff against Covid-19 , coordinating a service tailored for the sector “.

According to government statistics, the country registered only two new cases on May 16 and no deaths related to Covid-19 have been reported since May 7. In total, the country recorded 30,484 cases of coronavirus with 417 deaths.

The new scheme comes after the Maltese regulator announced Ryan Pace as its new president; as former deputy president, Pace was promoted to the role from the inside.

About the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)

The gaming industry has evolved from the structure of traditional casinos to the iGaming market, which features high-tech innovations to increase player interactivity and make the game available anytime, anywhere.

These developments brought new challenges in the definition of legal parameters. As such, regulators are increasingly recognizing the importance of having an effective legislative and corporate structure.

For this reason, MGA aims to ensure that the game is kept free of crimes and fraud, by intensifying international collaboration efforts.
