New IGT payment method approved by Nevada regulators

International Game Technology (IGT) has announced the completion of the final approval phase of its new payment model with the regulatory agencies of the state of Nevada, in the United States. As such, the authorities have released their Resort Wallet solution.

The new system allows state customers to use safer, contactless payment options for slot games.

Company director Ryan Reddy said: “Our Resort Wallet solution ensures that our customers can experience the increased liquidity and enhanced security that only cashless games can offer. We are grateful to the Nevada Game Control Board for making this important debut in the state possible. “

Ways of using the new IGT solution

The Resort Wallet solution has three cashless payment modules. The first is a loyalty card used to transfer money to a digital wallet and the card can then be activated to play with a PIN code.

Another possibility is to use a smartphone to pay for slot games by adopting a cashless betting account. Finally, the mobile app supports the transfer of funds from external sources, so that players can use their electronic wallets or credit cards to pay for games.

This payment format should reduce errors resulting from handling money, as well as offering better protection to users.

However, innovation in Nevada is not the only cashless payment option IGT is working on. That’s because the company received a patent to enable cryptocurrency as a valid method for paying for casino games.

IGT spokesman Phil O’Shaughnessy said: “IGT has secured this patent to strengthen its industry-leading portfolio in anticipation of any possible direction that the regulated market might take involving cryptocurrency.”
