Colombian gambling and gambling regulator Coljuegos has announced Cesar Augusto Valencia Galiano as its new president. The choice also received the approval of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of the country.

In addition, he also assumed the presidency of the same segment association for the Caribbean, Central and South America (ACCCSA) on two occasions.

The appointment comes after Coljuegos, earlier this month, revealed that the Colombian government has collected more than COP 2.8 trillion (about € 647 million) in taxes on gambling and betting since 2015.

About 668 billion Colombian pesos (around 155 million euros) were generated by the industry in 2019, an increase of 76% compared to the amount obtained in 2015 at the beginning of the exploration of the national market.
