Polymarket has announced a partnership with Lega Serie A to serve as the exclusive Italian Championship prediction markets platform in the United States. The agreement strengthens the company’s presence in international football and expands the Italian competition strategy in the North American market.
The partnership represents Polymarket’s third agreement with major football leagues since the beginning of 2026. Before that, the company had already closed collaborations with Major League Soccer (MLS) and La Liga, in Spain.
According to the companies, the platform will have access to official data from the Italian Serie A, and the Polymarket brand will be integrated into the league’s digital and media channels in the United States.
Shayne Coplan, founder and CEO of Polymarket, said: “The next phase of sports engagement will not be defined by more content, but by more participation.”
Coplan added: “Prediction markets offer fans a way to actively interpret the game in real time, and the partnership with Serie A brings this model to one of the most followed leagues in the world at a time when American interest in the sport is at a record high.”
How Serie A seeks to grow in the North American market
For Serie A, the agreement is part of the competition’s international expansion strategy. Currently, the United States is considered one of the main markets for audience growth and commercial strengthening of the Italian league.
Michele Ciccarese, commercial and marketing director of Lega Serie A, said: “The United States represents a key growth market for Serie A.”
“Our exclusive alliance with Polymarket, as a regional partner in the US, allows us to engage a new generation of fans through a platform that represents emerging trends.”
The executive also highlighted that the partnership offers a real-time interactive experience, based on participation and interpretation of match events.
The movement comes amid the growth of football in the United States, especially with the approach of the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in North America.
Meanwhile, Polymarket continues to expand its operations in the sports prediction market segment. The company also currently has agreements with organizations such as MLB, NHL and UFC.
