The Extraordinary Committee to Support the Development of Tourism, Leisure, Gastronomy, Hospitality, and Events discussed the impacts of the hotel industry in São Paulo last Wednesday (7). The group welcomed Bruno Omori, president of the Institute for the Development of Tourism, Culture, Sports, and the Environment (IDT-CEMA). He also serves as director of the International Hotel and Gastronomy Fair (Expotel).

According to IDT-CEMA, this sector generates approximately R$20.1 billion in daily room rates and, at the same time, generates approximately 365,000 jobs in the country.

Bruno Omori explained: “According to federal legislation, 3% of the proceeds from this billion-dollar sum will be allocated to treating people addicted to gambling.”
