Caixa Loterias, a subsidiary of Caixa Econômica Federal, announced the appointment of Tiago Cordeiro de Oliveira as president starting July 1, 2025. He replaces Kleber Coelho Paz, who served as interim president during the organization’s transition period.
Tiago Cordeiro brings more than 20 years of experience working at Caixa Econômica Federal, with a history of leadership positions in the areas of government products, lotteries and information technology, chosen to lead the company’s new agenda.
Professional experience of the new president of Caixa Loterias
Born in Tupã, in the interior of São Paulo, Tiago Cordeiro began his career at Caixa in 2003. Shortly after, in 2005, he began to occupy prominent positions in the institution. During this period, he served as Coordinator, Executive Manager and also as National Superintendent.
In recent years, Tiago has taken on new responsibilities. He was Acting Vice President of Government at Caixa Econômica Federal and, since December 2024, has been a member of the Board of Directors of Caixa Loterias.
In addition to his professional experience, he has a solid academic background. He holds a master’s degree in Strategic Management from the Higher Education Institute of Brasília (IESB), a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing from the Eurípides de Marília University Center (UNIVEM) and an MBA in Information Technology Governance from the Pioneira Union of Social Integration (UPIS).
The skills acquired reflect the adaptation to the current situation and the challenges of the lottery and betting sector in the country.
Challenges, perspectives and relationship with regulatory bodies
Tiago Cordeiro’s arrival coincides with a strategic phase for Caixa Loterias. Among his main responsibilities is leading the launch of the fixed-odds online betting and gaming platform (betcaixa.bet.br), marking the institution’s entry into the newly regulated national iGaming market.
This movement is considered fundamental for Caixa’s expansion and consolidation in the betting segment, which is undergoing rapid transformation.
Another priority for management will be the restructuring and improvement of the Exclusive Instant Lottery (LOTEX), which has not yet reached its full market potential. The goal is to increase both the efficiency and profitability of the operations of the federal lotteries managed by Caixa Loterias.
On his first day in office, Tiago Cordeiro participated in a meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Treasury. In attendance were Regis Dudena, Secretary of Prizes and Bets (SPA – Ministry of Treasury), and Deputy Secretary Carolina Yumi. The Caixa delegation also included Executive Director Darlan Costa and National Superintendent Thays Cintra Vieira.
The group addressed the regulatory environment for online betting, highlighting the alignment between Caixa and federal agencies to ensure compliance and efficiency in activities.
Focus on digital transformation and social responsibility
According to the institution, the appointment is part of a strategy to reposition the public lottery market in Brazil. In this context, the proposal is to align technology, regulatory modernization and social responsibility with the gaming universe.
Tiago Cordeiro’s experience in managing large public programs, such as social benefit transfers, public sector loans and infrastructure financing, reinforces his capabilities. Thus, he is prepared to lead Caixa Loterias in a phase of modernization and innovation.
