EU LOTTO LTD., owner of the Lottoland brand in Europe, has spoken out about the case of a bettor from the city of Quixeré, in Ceará, who claims to have won R$1.8 billion on the platform.
According to information from Tacio Lorran’s column in Metrópoles, the woman went to court, claiming the prize after allegedly matching the Powerball numbers, a lottery game in the United States, in 2020.
Last week, the 4th Panel of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) understood that the case needs to be tried in Brazil, and not in Gibraltar. In contact with the iGaming Brazil portal, EU LOTTO spoke out “about the recent allegations made by a bettor regarding an alleged prize from a Powerball bet”.
The statement added that “EU LOTTO has provided all relevant documentation – including but not limited to the player’s original bet slip – which clearly demonstrates that the numbers selected by the player were not drawn for the Powerball jackpot.”
Furthermore, the platform emphasizes that “this legal process deals exclusively with the disclosure of the player’s betting history, and does not involve any prize amount or claim on winnings.
