The meeting between the president of the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj), Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, and directors of the Central Bank represented a major step forward for the Rio de Janeiro lottery sector.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the federal institution in Brasília, last Monday (16). The vice-president of Loterj, Fabíola Esteves, and the lawyer Nacibe Cade accompanied the president on the institutional agenda.
The visit to the Central Bank is part of an agenda that aims to advance potential developments for the regulation and operation of lotteries in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The Loterj representatives were welcomed by Ricardo Teixeira Leite Mourão, Head of Unit at the Department of Competition and Financial Market Structure (DECEM), as well as by Breno Santana Lobo, Deputy Head of Unit at DECEM, and Juliana Mozachi Sandri, Head of Unit at the Department of Conduct Supervision (DECON).

The president of Loterj stated that “dialogue, cooperation and joint construction” were the main aspects addressed during the meeting.
The meeting was marked by the exchange of ideas and alignments between the institutions. Therefore, on the agenda, issues related to the regulatory environment of lottery operations and possibilities for innovation in the sector, relevant topics for Loterj’s operations in Rio de Janeiro.
