Recently, Mayor João Rodrigues sanctioned the law that establishes the Municipal Lottery of Chapecó (SC). The legislation, approved by the City Council, allows the Municipal Executive Branch to operate the public municipal lottery service.
The operation may be direct or through concession. In this case, the Treasury Department will be responsible for the administration. The funds raised by the lottery will be allocated specifically.
Firstly, the Municipal Administration will allocate 70% of the funds to actions and services of the public policy to assist autistic people. Subsequently, it will apply the remaining 30% to reduce the deficit of the municipality’s Social Security Regime.
Expected revenue from the Chapecó lottery
The expectation is to raise between R$200,000 and R$300,000 per month. The mayor emphasized that the Municipal Administration has given special attention to autism. Consequently, the administration contributed to the land and construction of the headquarters of AMA (Association of parents, mothers and friends of autistic people).
AMA President Lilian Simon participated in the event. Claimar de Conto, President of the City Council, emphasized the unity between the branches of government. “The executive and legislative branches are united in favor of actions that benefit the community,” said the president.
Agreement with APAE
In addition, Chapecó also signed a collaboration agreement authorizing the transfer of R$300,000 to APAE. These resources will make it possible to hold the Santa Catarina APAE Games. The event will take place from July 7 to 11 in Chapecó.
The president of APAE Chapecó, Jaime Francisco Battisti, and the director, Nara Valiati, were present. They received a symbolic check for R$300,000.
João Rodrigues highlighted the importance of the two events that took place. “Today we had two very important events. One that will help cover the costs of holding the APAE Games, where we have examples of overcoming obstacles, and that is why the City Hall will be a sponsor.
The other act, the creation of the municipal lottery, aims to cover the costs of the City of Autistic People, where we will have a sensory space, a semi-Olympic pool and a series of after-school activities, with multidisciplinary teams. The space will be next to the old CAIC, in the São Pedro neighborhood”, said the mayor.
Authorities present
Several authorities participated in the event, including Deputy Mayor Valmor Scolari, Secretary of Education Astrit Tozzo and Secretary of Family and Social Protection Luciano Hüning. Also present were Government Secretary Adair Niederle and Director of Taxes Andrea Lang.
Finally, during the event, the City Hall showed a video showing what the City of Autistic People will look like. The project is in its final stages. The sensory area and the pool will be put out to tender soon.
