The Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj) is the new official sponsor of the Campeonato Estadual Carioca Série A2. The competition, organized by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FFerj), brings together 12 traditional football clubs from Rio de Janeiro. In addition, there will also be competitions in the under-15, under-17, under-20 and women’s football categories.
The opening ceremony of the tournament has already been set for a date and location. It will take place this Saturday (17), at 3 pm, at the Giulite Coutinho Stadium, and will be attended by Governor Cláudio Castro. Castro will also be responsible for kicking off the match between América x Cabofriense.
According to information from FFerj, Loterj invested R$14 million in the project, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to the development of sports throughout the state. The sponsorship also includes naming rights for the championship, which will be renamed Campeonato Estadual Loterj – Série A2.
Loterj and Rio de Janeiro federation aim for social impact
According to Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, president of Loterj, the organization’s mission is to have a social impact. “Loterj’s mission is to invest in initiatives that generate a positive social impact. By supporting the Campeonato Estadual Carioca da Série A2, including the youth categories and women’s soccer, we are encouraging the practice of sports, revealing talents and promoting opportunities throughout the state.”
“It is an investment that reflects the spirit of the Cláudio Castro Government and Loterj: social inclusion, development and commitment to Rio de Janeiro,” he said.
The following teams participate in the championship: Cabofriense, America, American, Araruama, Bangu, Duque de Caxias, Audax Rio, Olaria, Petropolis Gonçalense, Resende, São Gonçalo and Black Pearls.
The expectation is for a highly competitive and highly visible competition, now boosted by the support of Loterj.
With this initiative, Loterj helps to strengthen football in Rio de Janeiro, promoting opportunities for young athletes, for women in sports and greater competitiveness in the state scenario.
