Lottery Secretary of the Ministry of Economy leaves office and has a replacement

On Wednesday, 26, the Ministry of Economy made some changes to internal functions. The current secretary of Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery (Secap), Pedro Calhman de Miranda, left the post for “personal reasons”. Gustavo Guimarães, the current Deputy Special Secretary for Finance, will assume the position.

While the last position of Guimarães is now occupied by Gildenora Milhomem, current undersecretary of Public Accounting of the National Treasury. These changes took place a few days after Bruno Funchai’s official appointment as special secretary of Finance, replacing Waldery Rodrigues.

This change is due to a strain on the economic team during this year’s Budget negotiation process. Guimarães is a career servant at the Central Bank and a doctor in economics from the University of Brasília. He joined the Ministry of Finance in mid-2016 and remained on the team after the transition to the Ministry of Economy.

Gustavo Guimarães served as assistant secretary since August 2016. Calhman is also a Central Bank employee and has been a member of the team since August 2016, when he served as deputy secretary for Economic Monitoring.

In early 2019, he took over from the Secretariat for Microeconomic Policy and Infrastructure Financing of the Secretariat for Economic Policy (SPE) and was in charge of the Secretary of Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery since the second half of last year.

The new assistant secretary, Gildenora is a federal auditor for Finance and Treasury Control, an accountant and a specialist in public administration. She worked as a general secretary for the Administration of the Advocacy-General of the Union (AGU) between 2010 and 2015, when she started working in the undersecretariat of Public Accounting.

The Treasury’s accounting department will be under the responsibility of the current general accounting coordinator of the Union, Heriberto Henrique Vilela do Nascimento, who is also a federal auditor for Finance and Control. Nascimento is an accountant, specialized in accounting and public management, with more than a decade of experience in the sector.
