PL 1.725 / 2021 has already started to be approved in the Senate, which requires that the bettors’ CPF numbers be included in the federal lottery and in the sports forecast draw. According to the text, when the CPF is included, the lotteries will not require the presentation of betting tickets to obtain the bonus, only the identity of the bettor. The author of the bill is Senator Weaverton (PDT-MA).
According to the proposal, the lottery must register the data of the winners so that Caixa Econômica Federal can contact them.
To facilitate these changes, the text amends article 14 of Decree No. 13,756, of 2018, which deals with the collection and promotion of lottery commercials and the destination of the product in the form of lottery tickets called “fixed-stakes bets”.
Senator Weaverton believes that the lottery system is still operating in a very “unstable” way because the lottery serves as a bearer bond. If the winning lottery ticket is lost, there will be no greater guarantees for bettors.
The congressman said that the obligation to include the CPF in the ticket was resolved because the winner only needs to present his registration number in the registration of individuals to receive the prize.
“Our proposition helps countless Brazilians who bet on lotteries, dreaming of a better life. Even if the prize is lost or lost the bettor who won the lottery will still be able to redeem his prize. Still, with the CPF data of the bettors, the financial institutions that operate the lottery system will be able to look for the winners in order to pay the prizes drawn ”, he justified.
Lottery prizes not redeemed
According to Caixa Econômica Federal, data show that in 2020 alone there was no redemption of 311.9 million reais in premiums.
In the last five years, around 1.62 billion has not been redeemed in Mega-Sena, Lotofácil, Quina, Lotania, Timemania, Duplo Sena, Loteca, Lotogol and Federal.
