The Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday, 5, a substitute text by the rapporteur, deputy Giovani Cherini (PL-RS), to Bill 1.561 / 20 of deputies Captain Wagner (Pros-CE) and Guilherme Mussi (PP-SP) ) that allows the Executive Branch to launch the Tourism and Health lotteries.
Now, the proposal will be forwarded to the Federal Senate, according to information from the Agência Câmara de Notícias. The Loteria da Saúde aims to raise funds to fund actions to combat the pandemic of COVID-19 in the national territory. “The Brazilian likes to play, and that is not a bad thing. I think that the prizes should be higher ”, said the deputy Cherini.
As long as the public health emergency situation decreed by the Ministry of Health remains in effect, the figures obtained from the Health Lottery will need to be allocated exclusively to prevent, contain, combat and reduce the impact of the pandemic through the National Health Fund ( FNS), which will also feature prizes not claimed by the winners.
The Tourism Lottery, on the other hand, is valid until the last day of this year and has the intention of obtaining more resources for the segment and the net income and the prizes not redeemed will be destined for the General Tourism Fund (Fungetur). Therefore, the amounts will be used exclusively for the granting of credit operations to the tourism area in order to reduce the economic impacts in the sector.
Ministry of Economy will define the details of the operation of the new lotteries
Also according to the Agência Câmara, the Ministry of Economy will regulate the form, periodicity and realization of the draws of both lotteries by Caixa Econômica Federal. In addition, the portfolio must establish the values of the prizes, the income tax, the unit price of the bets, the percentages and the limits of expenses with maintenance and costing of the operations.
