Ministry of Sports makes official new list of 80 clubs for Timemania in the 2026-2028 biennium

The Ministry of Sports (MESP) published this Monday (06), in the Official Gazette of the Union, Ordinance No. 32, which defines the 80 professional football associations that will be part of Timemania for the 2026 to 2028 cycle.

The update of the lottery catalog reflects the changes in the divisions of the Brazilian Championship and in the ranking of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), thus maintaining the sport as an essential source of funding for the reduction of tax debts of Brazilian clubs.

In order to compose the betting pools for the sport, the federal government maintained the technical criteria based on sporting performance.

Furthermore, the selection guarantees space for teams from different regions of the country, dividing the 80 lottery places into four categories:

According to the official text, the new collection biennium will officially come into force on May 2, 2026, extending until May 1, 2028.

The rules for distributing the funds raised remain unchanged, financially rewarding clubs that achieve the greatest engagement from their fans in lottery outlets and digital betting channels.

From now on, Caixa Econômica Federal will need to start adapting its systems to issue new Timemania tickets containing exclusively the 80 clubs approved by MESP.
