The president of the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj), Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, is participating this week in the LIDE Brazil United Kingdom Forum. The event, held in London this Thursday (30) and Friday (31), brings together important political and business leaders from Brazil and England.
Furthermore, the meeting aims to promote dialogue on business and investment opportunities between the two nations.
Advances in regulation are on the agenda.
Cançado will be one of the panelists in a discussion focused on games and lottery platforms. He will share the stage with Senator Irajá, who serves as rapporteur for the Casino Bill in the Senate, and with Susan Bala, an international expert in the sector.
The debate will also feature the participation of the president of the LIDE Group, João Dória Neto, and the head of LIDE Content, Carlos José Marques.
During his participation, the president of Loterj will highlight the significant progress made by the State of Rio de Janeiro in regulating games and betting. Under his leadership, the agency became a pioneer in regulating fixed-odds betting and, more recently, Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs).
Consequently, these milestones position Rio de Janeiro as a national benchmark for innovation and legal security in the sector.
What will be the impact of this measure on the economy?
According to Hazenclever, the consolidation of this market has great economic potential. The expectation is that the activity could generate more than 65,000 direct formal jobs, in addition to boosting tourism and attracting new investments.
This movement could strengthen a business and entertainment ecosystem that will benefit all 92 municipalities in the state.
Alongside regulatory innovation, Loterj maintains a strong commitment to society. The institution allocates a significant portion of its revenue to social impact projects.
The institution allocates resources to areas such as education, health, social assistance, and inclusion, reinforcing its role as an agent of transformation.
Finally, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado states: “Brazil is ready to be a world leader in regulated gambling, and Rio de Janeiro remains at the forefront of this transformation.”
