Senator Romário (PL-RJ) is ready to present the final report of the CPI on the Manipulation of Games and Sports Betting. This presentation will take place at a meeting scheduled for Tuesday (11), at 3 pm.

The Betting CPI, which investigates suspicions of manipulation of sporting results, also has a meeting scheduled for Wednesday (12), at the same time, to vote on the report.

Request to the Federal Police

On the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, the request (REQ 178/2025) stands out, requesting information from the Federal Police about the international transfer of businessman William Pereira Rogatto.

Senator Carlos Portinho (PL-RJ), author of the request, seeks details about the procedures already carried out to transfer the businessman and an estimate of when he will arrive in Brazil.

Rogatto, known as the “king of relegation”, was detained by Interpol in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, in early November. He faces accusations of match-fixing in football. In October, Rogatto had already given a statement to the CPI for Gambling and Betting Manipulation.

Betting CPI History

The Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) on the Manipulation of Sports Betting began its activities in April 2024. The members of the commission elected senator Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO) as president. Its main objective is to investigate allegations and suspicions of match-fixing in Brazilian football.

This investigation focuses on players, managers and betting companies. The CPI das Apostas is authorized to operate until February 15th.

The importance of this investigation lies in the need to guarantee the integrity of sports. Therefore, match fixing not only harms the competitiveness of games, but also affects public trust.

The presentation of the final report by Senator Romário (PL-RJ) represents a crucial step in combating these illegal practices. The vote on the report, scheduled for Wednesday, will be decisive for the next steps of the investigation.
