The Prizes and Bets Secretariat of the Ministry of Treasury (SPA/MF) updated the national list of bets authorized in Brazil until the end of the year. Now, 232 gaming and betting brands from 103 companies are allowed to operate in the country.

Among the news, a court decision included two companies. Paulo R. Lemos e Cia Ltda started to operate with the brands/domains bet678.com.br, Jogo88.com.br and br999.com.br. YG Gaming Ltda is authorized for 6z.bet.br, 8pg.bet.br and 98br.bet.br.

Thus, the number of qualified companies reached 103, of which five were included by court order.

Growth in state betting

On November 26, SPA/MF also updated the list of state operators, totaling 31 authorized companies. In the case of the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj), five new operators were added:

  • Via Bet Ltda: Via Bet (via-bet.com) and Brilhante Bet (brilhante.bet);
  • To All Games Operações Lotéricas Ltda: Clube do Bet (clubedobet.bet);

Overview of the betting sector in Brazil

The sports betting and online gaming market is experiencing strong growth. To date, 322 companies have requested authorization from the SPA/MF through the Betting Management System (SIGAP). However, of these, 51 withdrew their applications, leaving 271 active applications for 813 brands.

Therefore, if all companies approve, the government will raise more than R$8 billion from fixed grants alone. However, clearer regulation tends to attract more investors, strengthening confidence in the sector.

With defined rules and greater legal security, the Brazilian betting market has the potential to grow even further. Regulation not only protects players but also brings greater transparency and competitiveness to the sector, benefiting the entire operation chain.

It is worth remembering that betting companies will be able to operate fixed-odd bets, nationally, during the adjustment period, until December 31, 2024, in accordance with the requirements of Law No. 14,790/2023 and SPA/MF Ordinances No. 827/2024 and No. 1,475 /2024.

From January 1st, the regulated market will come into force, and only licensed betting companies will be able to officially operate and advertise in the country.
