Last Friday (23), at Lottopar headquarters, representatives from the eCogra testing and certification laboratory participated in the accreditation ceremony.
The company had already been accredited in March of this year. Therefore, it is now able to work with lottery and sports betting operators to carry out tests and issue certificates in Paraná.
Lottopar requires certification for sports betting
No lottery operator receives the concession to sell lottery and betting products without first presenting all the certificates.
Specialized laboratories must certify that lottery products and systems comply with safety standards and regulations established by Lottopar.
“Lottopar, even before authorizing the commercialization of lottery and fixed-odd betting products, has as a priority to bring to Paraná the best international practices of safe gaming and responsible gaming”, declared Lottopar’s Director of Operations, Fabio Veiga.
“That’s why we opened the notice to accredit internationally renowned laboratories. Now, they are certifying the quality and safety of lottery products sold in our State”, he added.
Paraná was a pioneer in Brazil in accrediting these laboratories. Thus, they guarantee that any lottery and sports betting operation only begins operations in the State with the presentation of the certificates required by Lottopar.
This represents greater security for the lottery market in Paraná at all stages of the process. Furthermore, it offers a safe entertainment experience for the bettor. Laboratories receive accreditation valid for one year and can be renewed annually.
For the legal representative of the eCogra testing and certification laboratory, Udo Seckelmann: “It is an honor to be accredited in Paraná. Because, with the growth of the betting market, we know the importance of certifying games and platforms. This will effectively protect the end consumer.”
Safety for players is paramount
The certificates issued by these laboratories ensure that lottery and sports betting services are fair and safe. They meet the international quality standards required by Lottopar.
These laboratories have a role similar to that of Inmetro, which tests and certifies products such as toys and seat belts. Therefore, people from Paraná can trust the security of betting and lotteries available in the state.
For a comparison and for the population to understand the role of these laboratories, take the example of Inmetro. When the Inmetro label is present, it guarantees that they tested the product and it received the safety certificate.
In other words, the same happens with laboratories accredited by Lottopar. If a car, equipment, game or sports betting site has the authorized Lottopar seal, this means that it has a certificate from this laboratory that attests to the safety of the operation.
