Published on May 22, SPA/MF Ordinance No. 827 defined the rules for private companies to operate sports betting and online games in Brazil. With this in mind, Betsul – a company specializing in this segment – began this Friday (16) the authorization process to operate in the country.
Thus, the institution became the 29th company to submit the request to the Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA) through the Betting Management System (SIGAP).
“We reinforce that this is a crucial moment for the market in Brazil. Betsul is fully committed to complying with all guidelines that have been established. We believe that regulation will bring greater transparency and security for our customers and partners”, stated Andréia Oliveira, COO of the company.
Given the ongoing regulation of the sector, it was established that the rules for the market will come into force from January 1, 2025, a period in which all operators in the sector must comply with the established guidelines.
In this way, SPA/MF ensured that companies that seek the license by the 20th will receive a response by the end of the year. After becoming the 29th company to request authorization, Fernando Garita, CEO of Betsul, celebrated the institution’s attitude:
“We are excited to actively participate in this regulatory process. As a pioneering company, it is an honor to lead initiatives in this sector. Thus, the recognition is a reflection of the work of our entire team, which has been fundamental in achieving this milestone”, he concluded.
