Novibet has officially submitted an application for a federal online gaming license in Brazil through its operating entity, NVBT Gaming.
Thus, the petition was registered with the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) through the Betting Management System (Sigap), marking a significant step in Novibet’s expansion in the growing Brazilian market.
Novibet places the order in the 90 day window
Panagiotis Skyrlas, Director of International Expansion at Novibet, stated: “We are extremely excited to be part of the first group of companies in Brazil to submit an application for a license. As Novibet has always stood for regulation and responsible gaming.”
“We have a long history of operating in highly regulated markets and launched operations in Brazil when we became aware of plans to regulate the sector. Therefore, submitting our petition for a license is an important step on our path to participating in the regulated market.”
The request was made within the initial 90-day window established by the SPA of the Brazilian Ministry of Finance. In other words, Novibet guaranteed priority by being among the candidates for the license, with the expectation of receiving approval by January 1, 2025.
This initiative comes as Brazil’s online sports betting sector prepares for a comprehensive market launch following the publication of the latest regulatory ordinances.
