The eSports segment in Espírito Santo may present news soon. A bill (PL) was sent to the Legislative Assembly of Espírito Santo (Alesc) in order to encourage the practice, in addition to regulating all supporters as athletes.
According to the text, with the regulation of electronic sports, athletes will gain more chances for legislation to exist, as already occurs with other sports categories.
According to a report by Folha Vitória, the project also points out that Espírito Santo already offers the status of promoter of sports activities to Confederation, Federation and other organizations that help to regulate the competitive practice of the sport.
In addition, June 24 will also be known as the State Day of Electronic Sport. The brand goes back to the creation of the company ‘Atari’, one of the major organizations that contributed to the popularization of video games around the planet.

State deputy Emílio Mameri (PSDB-ES) is the creator of the proposal. As the politician from Espírito Santo, the bill also tends to be relevant to help improve relations between athletes in the segment.
“Virtual sport, as well as any other sports practice, has the ability to foster good human coexistence and the intellectual and cultural development of the participants. By regulating it, we will be enhancing these capacities and giving the opportunity for athletes to have legislation as in other sports, ”said Mameri.
He added: “The growth of e-sport in Brazil motivated us to regulate and encourage the practice here in Espírito Santo”. Therefore, the proposal will be passed on to the commissions within the Legislative Assembly.
Electronic sports present electronic game championships, where competitors, who are part of a professional team, are accompanied by the public both in person and virtual, through various online streaming channels and even on open and closed television stations.
