The biggest event in Brazilian horse racing is now in its 93rd edition. Between June 19 and 23, the Jockey Club will host the Grande Prêmio Brasil Shopping Leblon Festival. The event, which is part of the official calendar of the city of Rio de Janeiro, has free admission and goes far beyond the races.
Sports, gastronomic and cultural attractions will liven up the long weekend in the Marvelous City in one of its most traditional tourist spots.
There will be more than 40 races over the four days of the event. As has been the case since 1933, the Grande Prêmio Brasil Shopping Leblon 2025 will be held late Sunday afternoon, as tradition dictates.
Raul Lima Neto, president of the Jockey Club Brasileiro, highlights the importance of the event: “We are very happy to host another edition of the GP Brasil, the most important race in Brazilian horse racing and which celebrates the tradition, excellence and passion for this sport.”
“We are also honored to have the partnership of Shopping Leblon this year, to promote a special event, which inspires and strengthens equestrian activity, adding races to other leisure and entertainment activities, attracting a larger audience and socializing our activity”, he said.
The 93rd edition of the Grande Prêmio Brasil Shopping Leblon presents five animals that stand out for their excellence and history of victories. Underpants, the winner of the Breeders’ Cup, is an imposing presence, who exudes the confidence of a champion. Nudini, winner of the Derby, promises a breathtaking performance.
Dream Alliance, the fantastic racer that won the São Paulo GP, is sure to impress everyone. Obataye, winner of the 2024 Brazilian GP, and Sparco, winner of the Linneo, emerge as the strongest, ready to fight for every inch of the track. The competition will be fierce and full of emotions!
The party goes beyond the races at the Brazilian Jockey Club
Gastro Beer Rio will be present at the Festival, holding its 10th anniversary edition. The event will occupy, for the first time, Tribunes A, B and C, with diverse gastronomy, special beers, wines, drinks and shows.
One of the new features this year is a special edition of the Circuito Moda Carioca, which brings together brands produced in Rio. The city’s flagship craft beer and gastronomy event will be held at the Jockey on Saturday and Sunday, from 12pm to 10pm, with free shows and a beer tour.

Which outfit you should use?
A special note regarding what to wear on the event days is that, only on Sunday, smart casual attire for the Grande Prêmio Brasil Shopping Leblon 2025 Festival is mandatory for those who attend the stands and the lawns of the Tribuna Social. The use of shorts will not be permitted in this area.
On other days and places, the order is to wear whatever clothes you feel most comfortable in. There is no clothing limit, with the exception of club or political t-shirts and flip-flops.
