Ascot, the renowned horse racing venue, has announced BetMGM as title sponsor of the highly anticipated Clarence House Chase Raceday, set for Saturday 20 January.

The agreement involves exclusive sponsorship of the BetMGM Clarence House Chase, a Grade 1 competition with a prize pool of £175,000.

BetMGM sponsors five more races

In the event’s history, Shishkin emerged as the winner in 2022, overcoming Energumene in a thrilling contest. Coach Nicky Henderson has risen to prominence and is ahead of Willy Mullins.

So this year the prize money promises to reach an impressive record of £415,000, representing a significant increase.

In other words, in addition to the main race, the bookmaker is committed to sponsoring five other races, including the exciting ‘BetMGM Mares’ Hurdle, with a prize pool of £60,000.

The expansion of this partnership highlights the online betting company’s growing presence on the British racing scene.

Felicity Barnard, Commercial Director and Deputy CEO of Ascot Racecourse, said: “We are thrilled to welcome BetMGM as race day sponsors at Ascot. So growing this relationship and your support is crucial in helping us deliver record prize money for the day.”

“The BetMGM Clarence House Chase is always one of the highlights of the season and is shaping up to be another high-class race.”

BetMGM is no stranger to sponsoring sporting events, having already been the main sponsor of Premier League Darts.

This partnership with Ascot adds to the company’s sponsorship portfolio, which includes events such as the All-Weather Championships, solidifying its commitment to the world of horse racing.

Bookmaker reinforces its presence in horse racing

Renowned former jockey and ITV and Racing TV commentator Megan Nicholls has been an ambassador for the brand since last year. This shows BetMGM’s commitment to growing the sport of horse racing in the UK.

Sam Behar, BetMGM UK Director, commented: “It’s a proud moment for BetMGM to be the title sponsor of this great event. It further shows our commitment to horse racing.”

“Now we can’t wait to watch the action, perhaps in a fantastic battle between Jonbon and El Fabiolo,” concluded Behar.
