Richard FitzGerald Resigns as CEO of Racecourse Media Group

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) CEO Richard FitzGerald has confirmed that he will step down in the next six weeks after almost 12 years on the job.

Having joined RMG in 2008, FitzGerald oversaw media and data rights for all major UK and Irish races. Including a decade with records of year-over-year increases in license fees for its shareholders.

In addition, he pioneered initiatives such as the relaunch of Racing TV as an independent channel, in an exclusive TV rights agreement with ITV and the launch of Racing TV International for foreign operators.

And also the implementation of the Watch & Bet service – a new streaming service aimed at helping RMG to generate greater turnover.

FitzGerald said: “It has been a fabulous and rewarding 12 years working for the Racecourse Media Group. The company grew and fulfilled the vision of the founding shareholders around a collective approach to commercialize their media and data rights ”.

He continued: “There is never a good time to resign, but with the resumption of racing, Watch & Bet’s new businesses, the terrestrial renewal of TV and the launch of fixed odds in Italy, and a new cycle of renewals starting soon. , it seems like the right time to disconnect ”.

Racecourse Media Group already has a replacement for the position

According to information on the RMG’s official website, Chief Financial Officer Martin Stevenson will take over as interim CEO once FitzGerald officially leaves the post.
