During SBC Rio 2025, one of the main events in the iGaming sector in Latin America, the Association of Women in the Gaming Industry (AMIG) celebrates its first year of operation.

The anniversary was marked by a happy hour and the launch of an exclusive booklet on Responsible Gaming. The material is available for free download on the website.

Developed with the collaboration of experts associated with AMIG, the booklet aims to strengthen the responsible gaming culture. Therefore, the idea is to promote integrity and ensure the well-being of players.

According to Ana Bárbara Costa Teixeira, co-founder of the association, the initiative reinforces AMIG’s mission: “The booklet aligns with AMIG’s main mission of contributing to the construction of a responsible, honest and inclusive regulated betting market.

Only by fostering a responsible gaming culture will we truly have a fair and sustainable industry in the long term.”

An accessible tool for everyone

The material was designed to be understandable to anyone, regardless of their level of knowledge about betting.

Victoria Cerioni, member of the AMIG Legal Committee, explains: “Our main objective was to ensure that anyone can understand what it means to gamble responsibly. To achieve this, we adopted simple language, lots of examples and visual resources.”

The booklet is aimed at bettors, operators, regulators and society in general. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of a market that prioritizes consumer safety and industry sustainability.

Laura Morganti, member of the AMIG Legal Committee, reinforces: “Our aim has always been to reach as many people as possible. Only through clear and transparent dialogue can we achieve the common good.”

Development and expected impact

AMIG hopes that the document will serve as a reference in the sector, influencing public policies and good business practices.

Fernanda Batistella, secretary of the Seal Committee, comments: “We hope that the booklet will be a starting point to strengthen the culture of responsible gaming, where the commitment to the integrity and well-being of players is a competitive differentiator.”

The development process involved extensive research and review to ensure up-to-date and reliable content.

Isabela Fernandes, member of the Services and Communication Committees, highlights the challenges: “We needed to carefully select the information to ensure that the booklet was useful both for those who have been playing for a long time and for those who have no knowledge of the subject.”

The booklet also addresses the relationship between gambling and mental health, offering guidance for family and friends.

Irati Santos, member of the Support Committee, states: “The material teaches how to identify warning signs, encourage healthy habits and offer adequate support, promoting a safe and balanced environment.”

Andrea Ueda, associate at AMIG, adds: “We hope that society uses the booklet as an informative guide to understand the betting market and its implications, helping to mature the sector in a healthy way.”

AMIG’s next steps

The next steps include disseminating the material in educational videos, professional training and partnerships with operators.

Luizeanne Favero, Supervisor of the Contract Subcommittee, reinforces: “Responsible gaming demands collective awareness. The next actions include publicity campaigns and professional training.”
