The ICE Barcelona fair promises to attract more than 40,000 visitors, with more than 800 exhibitors, 14,000 operators and more than 200 regulators participating in the event. In addition, it will feature more than 300 speakers, consolidating itself as one of the biggest meetings in the gaming industry.

Among the conferences, the highlight is the World Regulatory Briefing (WrB), which brings together regulators and legislators from various parts of the world to discuss legal and regulatory issues with sector operators.

Brazil and Latin America have gained special attention due to the recent regulation of the betting and iGaming industry. The fair will offer an exclusive itinerary to strengthen international relations with the region, highlighting market opportunities and challenges.

Day Zero: a vibrant opening

On Sunday, January 19th, the event kicks off with World Games Week at Time Out Market Barcelona. Between 5pm and 10pm, participants can collect their badges, enjoy a drink and taste high-quality food from renowned local restaurants. This is the ideal time for networking and preparing for the following days.

In parallel, from 6pm to 10pm, the World Gaming Gala takes place, an exclusive event for regulators, government members, speakers and other invited professionals.

Day 1: debates and perspectives on Latin America

On Monday, January 20, ICE Barcelona’s schedule includes the World Gaming Forum in Hall 5. Between 11:45 am and 12:30 pm, the session “Regulation and Revitalization in Latin America” will feature discussions on the growth of the local market, especially in Brazil and Mexico.

Former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, will open the session by sharing his perspective on the region’s economic opportunities. Later, a panel of experts will discuss topics such as regulatory risks and benefits of tourism and economic growth.

On the same day, between 4:45 pm and 5:30 pm, the session “Hidden Burdens: Optimizing Taxation for Sustainable Returns” will address tax issues in emerging markets, with the participation of Regis Dudena, Secretary of Prizes and Bets at the Brazilian Ministry of Treasury.

Day 2: focus on Brazil

From 10:30 am to 11:30 am, experts will discuss the immediate impacts of Brazilian regulation on the sector. They will emphasize compliance-related challenges such as geolocation and fraud detection.

Immediately afterwards, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, the focus will turn to the topic of mergers and acquisitions in Brazil. Speakers will explore the barriers faced, highlighting aspects such as regulation, market competition and economic factors.

The day’s program ends with round tables focused on regulatory advances in Brazil and promising markets, such as Peru.

Day 3: challenges and innovations

On Wednesday, January 22, the regulatory and tax challenges faced by B2B providers in Brazil will be addressed in a dedicated session on the ICE Center Stage. Other panels will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies on the gaming industry in Latin America, with experts sharing insights into regulation and technological innovations.
