Four days of exchanging information and insights about the betting industry, affiliates and games marked the 2024 edition of IGI Expo, held between December 12th and 15th, in Florianópolis (SC).
Pedrão Bet, Head of Super Afiliados, attended the event and shared his impressions with the iGaming Brazil portal. “I think it’s very interesting to have an event here. The South of Brazil is very important for the country’s economy.”
He added: “It’s cool to have an event outside the Rio – São Paulo axis so that new people can get to know the industry and so that people from the South feel represented. I welcome this expansion of our market to other states.”
Expectations for 2025
The main topic covered at the event was the transition to the regulated market from January 1, 2025. According to Pedrão, there is still a lot of uncertainty about what will happen in this new phase of the national industry.
“We have identified that there are many people with uncertainty and without knowing the direction they will take at least in the first six months of next year. Even government bodies still have difficulties understanding the market”, he pointed out.
He believes that the first semester will be full of learning and adaptation for everyone involved. “I think the first six months will be a lot of learning, both for those involved in the market who will need to learn how to work in a regulated market and for those involved with the government who will learn how to deal with this market”, he concluded.
