Eliane Nunes, from Salsa Technology, was one of the speakers on the first day of IGI Expo 2024, in Florianópolis. The event, which was covered by the iGaming Brazil portal, brought together representatives from the betting, affiliate and gaming segments last week.
The executive highlighted the importance of holding conventions in different regions of Brazil. “Florianópolis is considered the Brazilian Silicon Valley, there is an innovation hub with several technology and development companies”.
She added: “Salsa itself, before the pandemic, had an office here. A large part of our platform and content development team is in Florianópolis. So, it’s really cool to have an event close to part of the Salsa family.”
Female participation in the world of iGaming
Eliane Nunes also highlighted the growth of female presence in the iGaming market, “I think that, in both the B2B and B2C sectors, there are more and more women, whether among suppliers, studios or operators. Salsa has several women on its leadership and development teams,” he noted.
“We are gaining this space, but I think there is still a way for women to gain other spaces in B2C, in terms of contact with the end public”, he continued.
Additionally, she mentioned the lack of games with female themes or characters. “Of course, there are games with female characters, but they are often aimed at figures like Greek goddesses, having a more sensual feel. I think bringing this appreciation to the sport, both in terms of sponsorship and characters, will be beautiful. A Marta game, we want it!
According to the executive, there is potential to increase the number of female bettors in Brazil. “There are still those who think that only men watch football or bet. The brands that start to get involved in this, the industry itself is already expanding this representation, we have AMIG (Association of Women in iGaming). Women’s initiatives to organize themselves and seek this voice are the first step to getting where we want.”
Salsa Technology in 2025
For Eliane, the end of the year will be marked by intense work focused on certifying providers and games aiming for the regulatory framework from January 1st. However, the Salsa Technology representative does not rule out the possibility of extending some deadlines.
“We are ready, our customers are ready. But, I think that, for the good of the market, an extra period could be beneficial for everyone”, he concluded.
