Brazil remained the focus of conversations at one of the last meetings of the iGaming market in Europe in 2024. According to the CEO of Aposta Online, Pedrão Bet, many players were interested in knowing details about the regulated market during SiGMA Europe, in Malta.
“Once again, Brazil is the focus of many conversations. Many people are interested in the regulated market, but also worried. Some companies are leaving Brazil, while others want to return or enter. There is a lot of hope for next year”, he pointed out.
ABRAJOGO
Pedrão also participated in a panel about ABRAJOGO in Malta. According to him, the entity emerged to occupy a space that did not exist in Brazilian industry.
“It was really cool to talk about the association. ABRAJOGO came to occupy a space that, in our industry, did not exist. Because we already have some associations and institutes, but these institutes are not plural”, he stressed.
“ABRAJOGO comes to represent the industry in general. Bookmakers, industry employees, all players who have any relationship or interest in the industry are welcome. The idea is exactly this: to have many members to speak on behalf of the industry”, he added.
Expectations 2025
With the market becoming fully regulated from January next year, expectations are quite high. According to Pedrão Bet, the additional work to comply with all requirements tends to be compensated by the removal of illegal operators from the sector.
“Expectations are always good, despite the greater work we will have to do on compliance and other issues. I believe they will reduce the problems. We have seen the company struggling a lot in our industry and I think that, with the departure of these bad players, this tends to decrease. I hope that the regulated market will be even bigger”, he concluded.
