Clarion Gaming has negotiated a cumulative discount of up to €2.4 million on hotels in Barcelona. All this, in the name of the industry during January’s ICE and iGB Affiliate events. These are the first editions held in the Catalan city.
Rates guarantee 34% savings per night and are exclusive to Clarion Gaming’s official partner. They were secured as part of ICE and iGB Affiliate’s historic relocation and are only available through Clarion Gaming’s official accommodation partner.
Statements from the director of Clarion Gaming
Clarion Gaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter said: “From the start of the competitive bidding process to host the world’s leading b2b shows, which began in March 2023, a non-negotiable requirement for city/venue bids was the availability of comfortable overnight accommodation at significantly reduced rates and at key price points.”
“Part of the Barcelona proposal was a guarantee that we could secure a minimum of 40,000 hotel nights each year at the lowest possible rates over the duration of the five-year lease. This was delivered with the rooms only available via BNetwork, the official accommodation partner we have appointed.”
He added: “The feedback we are receiving informally from the industry and confirmed by booking data is that participants are making their preparations in advance and also scheduling their travel to arrive in Barcelona the weekend before the show opens.
“For the most part, visitors are treating their annual pilgrimage to ICE/iGB Affiliate as a city break and we are planning a suite of hospitality offerings curated by Clarion Gaming to offer a combined ‘work, rest and play’ experience.”
According to Hunter, “We will be launching ‘The Road to Barcelona’ guide, which will cover the best ways for visitors to join ICE/iGB Affiliate and enjoy their time in the historic city.
“The market tells us that exhibitors, more than at any time in the past, will use the global platform provided by ICE/iGB Affiliate to launch their new products and game-changing innovations for what promises to be the largest gathering of gaming professionals in the world. history”, he concluded.
