Excitement is building in Miami and the state of Florida, and not just for the next SPORTEL Rendez-Vous Miami, the international market and sports media and technology summit, taking place May 9-10 in the Bay of Miami Marriott Biscayne.

Key Executives from the highly anticipated 2023 Crypto Miami Grand Prix Formula 1 Grand Prix, taking place the weekend before SPORTEL, will share key insights post-race during a Masterclass panel highlight: “‘Breaking’ the States: the face changing face of US motorsport”, showing how motorsport is experiencing a renaissance among America’s youth, led by the success of Formula 1’s Drive To Survive, new race formats and the proliferation of events across the US.

Formula 1 Crypto Miami Grand Prix 2023 President Tyler Epp commented: “I am delighted to be part of the SPORTEL Rendez-vous Miami panel to discuss how motorsport, particularly Formula 1, is blazing a trail here in the United States. Our inaugural race last year was a huge success and we continue to build on that for our second event in just a few weeks’ time.”

This high-speed panel will also welcome Formula 1 Creative Director of Media and Content Rights, Ian Holmes; Dorna Sports/MotoGP Head of Media Rights Alex Arroyo and panel contributor and moderator Callum McCarthy, Editor-in-Chief of SportBusiness.

Staying in the atmosphere of Miami and South Florida, a conversation with Inter Miami CF Business Director Xavier Asensi will discuss his move from international powerhouse FC Barcelona to MLS and offer insight into his experience working with the remarkable trio, entrepreneurs Jorge, José Mas and global superstar David Beckham, as well as MLS and Inter Miami’s revolutionary partnership with Apple TV.

Panel – “Private Equity – Investing in Sports”

Changing gears, a panel of experts will address the growing trend of “Private Equity Investing in Sports” and the mutual benefits for strategic partnerships between investors and sports properties.

Changing the debate, Snipitz COO Kelly Ratka; LGPA Chief Strategy Officer Jerry Yen and Executive Director Linda Chen will be discussing plans to “Leverage AI, Data and Analytics in Women’s Sports.”

Panel – “The Rise (in Valor) of Women’s Sports Media Rights”

Growth on a broadcast, ratings, sponsorship and attendance level has raised the bar for value representation in women’s sports and expanding commercial opportunities at all levels.

The panel will feature the following experts: Florida Sports Foundation President & CEO Angela Suggs; the Head of Media Right & Broadcast of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), Gibran Khan and the Vice President of Business Development and Growth Initiatives of FOX Deportes Studios, Angelina G. Losada.

Harmonic Solutions Director Mr. SaaS, Global, Jean Macher will share insights on “Sports Live Streaming at Scale”, addressing key success factors to drive new revenue, with targeted advertising and content to strengthen viewer engagement with uninterrupted quality of experience.

The Masterclass “Evolutions in Content Production & Delivery (OTT, AI & the Cloud)” will demonstrate how new and cost-effective cloud-based services like OTT and AI are enabling technological shifts in the marketplace for remote and automated publishing, content creation and delivery of content, making all sports, including low-level and niche sports available to a wider audience.
